creature comforts

We have been without power to our house since Friday night. I have been feeling a great sense of community and love by those lending a hand to us and today I am thankful.

Grateful for:

*neighbors who still have power and are willing to let us run an extension cord, bring us ice, share their home-cooked food, and bring us cold water

*friends from afar who offer to help any way they can

*friends who are near who offer space in their fridges/freezers to keep what food we can and offer to cook us dinner

*the local coffee shop continuing to serve coffee even when they’re swamped and running out of everything

*the creek we have been soaking in daily to cool and refresh us

*the sweet times with my hubby and my Ry girl that are a direct result of having nothing more pressing to do than hang out with each other in the creek

*being reminded to let loose and have fun

While we have been hot and sometimes struggling to know what to do with ourselves, we have found ways each day to get through the heat, get fed, and have a little bit of fun.
